Sam is a consultant with DRI
and comes with a varied background that serves him well in this
capacity. Sam received his Masters in Psychology from Seattle
University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of
Minnesota. A veteran himself, he has completed past research on the
experience of deployed soldiers and presented on this topic at the
International Human Science Research Conference.
Sam has experience
teaching in a variety of settings.
In his role as a Career Counselor in the
Army Reserve, he had the opportunity to lead blocks of instruction
on topics ranging from Education Benefits to Position Recruitment.
More recently, Sam has been a section leader in the psychology
department at the University of Minnesota; delivering weekly
lectures on introductory psychology to an assigned group of
students.
In the Army Reserve, Sam
spent nearly two years helping soldiers develop and attain
occupational goals as a Career Counselor.
This work continued during his time at
University Counseling and Consulting Services; where he delivered
counseling services to individuals concerned with a range of career,
personal, and academic issues.
Sam continues working in this area at
DRI; using his personal and academic experiences to inform his work
as a consultant.
