Tips to Unclutter Your Life

  1. Create uninterrupted time for concentrating. If you are trying to do something serious, devote ALL of your attention to that task.

  2. Manage your inbox. Don't let your email inbox fill up with undifferentiated material: do it now, delegate it to a colleague, put it in your calendar for a later time, or delete it.

  3. Plan on face time. Research shows that the number one cause of interruption and delay in the workday is a colleague stopping by to chat.

  4. Manage your desktop. Using a large desktop, or more than one monitor, may be helpful in keeping you both structured and focused.

A public organization within the Twin Cities recognized a need for organizational development. They requested from DRI Consulting (DRIC) that they aid in improving the process through which the organization develops the internal capacity to efficiently and effectively carry out its mission while sustaining itself over the long term. Through planned interventions in the organization's processes, DRIC staff created an organization-wide effort to change the beliefs, attitudes, values, and structure of the organization so the employees within it could better adapt to new technologies, markets, and challenges.
